New Release: Same Old Songs

Out now, available digitally worldwide. (Release date: 26th of July)

Goulburn Valley talent Jessica Lorraine announces new single Same Old Songs, an open hearted alt-country-folk ballad exploring themes of mental health and self reflection.

Following March single release ‘Thinking of You’, Same Old Songs will draw you further into the Jessica Lorraine sonic landscape with lucious instrumentation produced by Joshua Barber (Gretta Ray, Gotye), featuring moody guitar & pedal steel from Matt Dixon (The Teskey Brothers, Gretta Ziller), mixed by Robert Muinos (Didirri, Little May) and mastered by John Davis (Haim, Lana Del Rey).

On the song, Jessica says “I wrote Same Old Songs during a time that I was in an indecisive limbo, days sort of washed into each other, and despite having time and space to think, I struggled to reflect and untangle all the thoughts that had become knotted up in my mind over time. This song is for my fellow overthinkers, writing this song was one of the first steps on a journey for me, of learning to give myself more grace and letting go of having everything figured out. I wanted to release it in the hopes that it connects and can help someone else who’s struggling with that mental battle.”

“Scorching vocal with just the right amount of percussion tempered with gentle reverb. Delectable and powerful, my favourite combo. Jessica is a voice and name you'll want to know.” - Kath Devaney, ABC Country.

“Oof, this is a heart pulveriser. Beautiful song, delivered warmly and powerfully. Thanks JL!” - Steph Hughes, Triple J.
